Alexandra Chando is an American actress, director, and producer recognized for her extensive work across television and film. Growing up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Liberty High School before attending Manhattan College in New York. Early in her artistic pursuits, she began commuting to New York City for auditions, launching her professional career in the early 2000s with an appearance in the television film House Blend.

Her breakthrough came when she was cast as Maddie Coleman on the CBS daytime soap opera As the World Turns, a contract role she played from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2009 to 2010. Her performance earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the Younger Actress category. She gained widespread recognition starring in the ABC Family drama series The Lying Game, taking on the dual lead role of identical twins Emma Becker and Sutton Mercer. Over the years, she has also made guest appearances and recurring roles on numerous prominent programs, including The Vampire Diaries, Castle, Hawaii Five-0, and Sneaky Pete.

Transitioning behind the camera, Chando has built a robust career as a director and producer. After shadowing directors on various network sets, she directed short films, unscripted pilots, and digital projects, earning acclaim for her creative vision. She made her feature directorial debut with the heist film The 8th Day. Deeply committed to gender parity in the industry, she serves as the executive director of HER VOICE, an initiative supporting emerging female filmmakers, and hosts a podcast focused on meaningful conversations within entertainment.
