Maia Mitchell is an accomplished Australian actress and singer who first gained recognition in her home country through children's and teen television series. Growing up in Lismore, New South Wales, she began performing in local theatre and school productions before landing her breakthrough television role as Brittany Flune in the children's series Mortified. She followed this with main roles in other Australian programs such as Trapped and its sequel series, Castaway.

Moving to the United States as a teenager, Mitchell quickly expanded her career into American television and film. She made guest appearances on the Disney Channel series Jessie and achieved mainstream global recognition co-starring as McKenzie in the popular Disney Channel Original Movies Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2.

Her prominent dramatic breakthrough came when she was cast as Callie Adams Foster in the ABC Family/Freeform hit drama series The Fosters. She reprised and continued this acclaimed role in the spin-off series Good Trouble, where she also served as an executive producer. Alongside her extensive acting credits in film and television, she remains active as a singer and musician.
